The founder of March for College, Inc. Adrienne Brown, created the Gilbert Brown Music Scholarship Foundation after her father’s transition late 2023.

Gilbert Brown was a Washington, D.C. high school band director. With both his degree and maters in Music from Howard University, he circle the music circuit, performing with the Dells, Gladys Knight and the Pips, and other D.C. bands. Also a proud member of the Omega Psi Phi. His genius in musicianship, the love he had for children and his enthusiasm for teaching lives on through the Gilbert Brown Music Scholarship Foundation by supporting high school and college musicians. Miss you 2 much Daddy!

Promoting college recruitment, informing and getting high school students excited about going to college, and connecting the HBCU community. Since 2010, our college fairs showcased HBCU bands performing, a college fair with an NBA game (Washington Wizards vs. Chicago Bulls) in Washington, D.C., college symposiums, partnered on events, and virtually with our community page and new 3D metaverse world grand opening last year! Striving to provide impactful information, while entertaining.
